Just get out the credit card , don't buy equipment that you will outgrow in a year, buy quality once,............. then hand it down to your kids.

While buy quality is good advice, it's no guarantee that you won't outgrow the equipment. No matter how good an amp is, it doesn't mean that it will suit you. If you buy top of the line new, it can cost you big when you realize it's not really what you want.

There are several good amps in your price range, several have been mentioned here. Stay within your budget and don't "pull out your creditcard" unless you don't mind paying $1200 for something that sold new for $750.00 Also check out used amps, Once you get into amps in your price range I really don't think that its about out growing them as much as your taste changes and you find something that suits you thats different.

Will go and check it out. I've also heard a lot of good things about an amp not mentioned here called the Blackstar HT5 but I'm not sure if it's available in the US.

Anyway, off to the store!!
