can't really say much from jsut looking at photos, if you can post links to where they are shown for sale, it should also have the specs. I like the looks of the LP better, but I am a bit more on the conseritive side and not a thrasher

I prefer a more classy guitar that can be used crudely rather than a crude and rude guitar tryin to be used classy...Id rather dry hump my way through a face melting solo with a nice guitar than be formal while running some jazz lines with a metal battle axe.

You'll soon get tired of the smart a.. design of the schecter. If your gonna' go with Gibson LP is a great axe.

Id go with the les paul. Alot Nicer Tone, and looks, I mean you'll most likely regret buying that synster gates signature. But then it matters what you play really...
Like my favorite brand is ibanez, for when i play like hardcore stuff, its easier to play.
Then For Regular like practicing and coming up with stuff i use a Squier Bullet Special II. Really Nice guitar for just 150. It weighs like nothing too.

I have that same style of les paul, so if you have any questions about it just ask in a private message or sumtin. but i was thinkin the same thing a while back, syn's guitar, or les paul, and im glad i chose the les paul, I highly recommend it, you can get synysters sound out of it if you really want, just get a distortion pedal.
Another thing, dont know what kind of music you like, but this guitar covers it all, but if you really like heavy metal and all that, just have emg's put in the les paul.
