This song was written by Jack Tempchin and made famous by THE EAGLES as well as covered by many other bands. DVD Introduction & Chord Library – In the introduction we discuss the coming lesson format, how to navigate through the DVD, and also how we are going to piece the song together in easy digestible parts. This will help to get you playing this song in the fastest and most efficient manner. We also talk about the gear and tuning used in the DVD. As an added bonus we also give you some killer practice tips and suggestions to continue to move you forward in your guitar journey. In the chord library we take you in on a very tight shot on the neck and go over each chord that you will need to play in the song. You will see the chord names and fret numbers flash on the screen with our on-screen text. We also teach needed chord playing techniques to get you playing and changing chords in the fastest and most efficient manner. You will also learn the most efficient fingering to utilize to voice the chords, and how to switch from one to the next quickly in time. We also sprinkle in some music theory and give you plenty of additional playing tips along the way. We also teach techniques like string muting and proper finger positioning to help get your chords sounding clean, rich, and amazing.

Song Structure & Strumming - In the song structure section we discuss how to go about navigating the DVD to learn the song in the fastest and most efficient manner. We go over the structure of the song’s intro, verses, choruses, solo, outro, and how all the song parts attach to one another. In the strumming section we go over the needed rhythms and timings. Guitar Solo & Practice Track – In the solo section we explain the rhythm being played under the guitar solo and then analyze the chord progression and teach you what scales work well if you want to incorporate a solo. We make suggestions on what scales sound great over the chords and also some embellishments to spice them up a bit. In the practice track section we play the entire song on rhythm guitar the whole way through at record tempo. This is a great practice tool as you only hear the just the guitar as we play the rhythms at record speed with on-screen text marking all the parts of the song. The most challenging chord changing you may be encountering at this point in your guitar journey is changing from open chords to bar chords. In this bonus lesson we teach you the needed techniques to get these changes down pat. Without the proper technique making open to bar changes is next to impossible. We will get you mastering these changes fast, fun, and easy with a little bit of practice and patience. In this lesson we also go over exercises so you can practice these techniques.
