Hello Good People – David Taub here from Next Level Guitar. Tim and I are really stoked to bring our unique teaching techniques to you in Full Screen DVD format. We break down popular songs and make them simple and fun. With a little practice you can be playing the hits you love just like on the radio. In this two-hour DVD we break down and explain in our easy to digest format the classic song MORE THAN A FEELING by BOSTON. What a killer song and an absolute feast for the guitar player – and man there is a lot of guitar in this song! This is the full on song and technique lessons and when we say “full song lesson” we mean it. We teach ALL the song parts – intro, verses with all variations, rhythms, chorus with all variations, timing, strumming and strum patterns, arpeggiation and picking patterns, embellishments, licks, full guitar solo and harmony solo, harmonic licks, acoustic and electric guitar parts, and more. Plus we talk about tone, amp settings, guitar pickups, channel switching, clean and dirty sounds, gain levels, and guitar types. You can learn the song and parts for one guitar or two guitars as we show you all the parts. You will also learn many of the playing techniques utilized in this song, and then you can blast them all across all your playing and practicing.

The song is broken down and all parts are explained and demonstrated at slow speed and regular speed. We break each section into digestible parts and we get you playing and rocking out to this tune in the fastest and most efficient manner. If you are familiar with our teaching methods you know that we take songs sections one at a time and break them down into smaller sections, explaining every piece as we go along. Then we show you how to tie everything together. We also have on screen text, multiple camera angles, picture-in-picture two camera shots, and close ups of the picking AND fret hands to make the learning process even easier.

DVD Introduction – In this introduction David discusses the coming lesson format and how to piece the song together in the fastest and most efficient manner. He discusses the song orchestration and how to learn the song for one guitar or two guitars. He also talks about the gear and tuning used in the DVD – both the acoustic and electric guitars and how he gets the needed tones. He discusses pickups, effects, amps, and amp settings as well as different gain/distortion levels.

Song Structure – In this section David discusses how to go about navigating the DVD to learn the song in the fastest and most efficient manner. He also discusses the orchestration of the song and how all the song parts attach to one another. David also teaches how to go from the clean parts to the distorted guitar parts using amp channel switching or stomp pedal boxes.

Chord Library - Here David takes you in on a very tight shot on the neck and goes over each chord that you will need to play in the song. You will also see the chord names and fret numbers flash on the screen with our on-screen text. David also teaches you chord playing techniques to get you playing and changing them in the fastest and most efficient manner. He also teaches the most efficient fingering to utilize to voice the chords and how to switch from one to the next quickly in time. You will also learn about string muting techniques and bar chords.

Song intro - In this section the guitar intro is broken down into digestible pieces. You get multi camera angles with all the licks and progressions played at regular speed and slow speeds and displayed with on-screen text. The camera is then zoomed in on tight shot of the pick hand where all picking patterns are broken down and explained at both slow and regular speeds. You also get two camera shots with our picture-in-picture teaching so you see up close and personal what each hand is doing as David teaches all the parts. You see it all up close with a tight shot of both the pick hand and the fret hand. You also will learn the natural harmonic riffs and how to execute them technique wise. It’s all explained in digestible pieces as per our easy and fast teaching methodology. All along David gives other tips and tricks to make your playing easier. David also demonstrates the parts on both acoustic and electric guitars.

Verses & Chorus - This section of the DVD is broken into two sections

Verses - In this section you will learn the all the parts to all three verses in the song. There are variations to each verse and David goes over all the variations to all the parts. You get tight shots of both pick and fret hands as well as all the picking patterns and chords utilized. On-screen text ties it all together and makes learning fast. David also teaches the best way to finger the chords for fluidity and simplicity. All parts are broken down and played at slow and regular speeds. You will learn how to tie all the parts together and also how to add dynamics and how to go about changing tones and adding gain to fill up the sound.

Chorus - In this section you will learn all the progressions in the chorus sections of the song. All strum and picking patterns are broken down and explained in detail. On screen-text and picture-in-picture two camera work ties all the progressions and chords together. David also teaches how to embellish song parts by chucking to add interest. They change up the chorus each time through in the song but David takes you through all the variations as well as all the clean and distorted parts. You also learn the bridge section that attaches the chorus to the guitar solo. You also will learn more of the natural harmonic riffs that appear over these parts.

Licks & Guitar solo - This section is broken down into two sections

Licks - There are a bunch of very trademark licks in this song that you will want to learn and we go over them all and how to insert them into the song. Each lick is played at slow and regular speed and you get a tight shot of the neck to learn all the fingerings.

Guitar Solo - In this section you will learn the full on killer guitar solo. David goes over every lick and note of all the guitar lines in easily understandable pieces. Plus you learn both guitar parts one at a time to include the harmony guitar line. So you can play the solo with just one guitar or two guitars! Each lick is broken down and played at slow and regular speeds as well as demonstrated and explained with a tight shot of the neck. David also teaches what fingerings work best for fluidity, and how to piece the entire solo together – you will learn it all up close and personal – every bend, every hammer-on, pull-off, vibrato, as well as every lick is broken down and played at slow speeds!
